Donald's Hill Sunset Hike (13 February 2026)
Donald's Hill Sunset Hike (13 February 2026)
Join Nuala on Wednesday 13th February 2026 (6.30–9.30pm) for a sunset hike on Donald’s Hill, rising gently above the quiet village of Drumsurn.
As the day softens into evening, we’ll set off from the top of Temain Road, leaving the noise of everyday life behind us. This is a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and step into a landscape that feels wide, open, and grounding.
Our route takes us along peaceful country roads before a steady, rewarding climb toward the summit. Along the way, the simple rhythms of nature begin to take over — the breeze moving through the grass, distant birdsong, sheep grazing quietly on the hillside.
As we gain height, the views begin to unfold… and by the time we reach the top, we’re met with something truly special.
Facing west, we’ll watch the sky begin to glow as the sun lowers over Lough Foyle, casting warm light across the land. To one side, the dramatic cliffs of Binevenagh rise against the horizon; to another, the distinctive shape of Benbradagh stands proudly. On a clear evening, the hills of Donegal stretch into the distance, layered in soft blues and golds.
We’ll pause here to fully take it in — not just the view, but the feeling of being present within it:
🌿 Mindful Breathing – Let the cool, fresh air ground and energise you
🌿 Quiet Stillness – Soak in the vastness, the light, the calm
🌿 Gentle Movement – Ease the body after the climb and feel its strength
As the colours begin to fade and twilight settles, we’ll follow the Ulster Way along the ridge before descending the green track, carrying that sense of calm with us.
By the time you return to your car, you’ll feel lighter — clearer in mind, refreshed in body, and reconnected to the simple beauty of the world around you.
This isn’t just a walk. It’s a chance to reset, to breathe, and to experience the landscape at one of its most magical moments.
