Slemish Wellbeing Hike (15 March 2025)
Slemish Wellbeing Hike (15 March 2025)
Come join Nuala on Saturday 15 March 2025 from 9am-12.30pm for a beautiful Wellbeing Walk on Slemish Mountain.
Slemish Mountain is a place rich with history, natural beauty, and spiritual significance - especially at this time of year with it’s connection to Saint Patrick.
Our Wellbeing Hike on Slemish will invite you to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and feel the ancient pulse of the land beneath your feet.
We’ll begin the journey by breathing deeply, feeling the weight of the everyday world fall away.
We’ll connect with the land as we walk along the winding path around the base of this stunning mountain.
This land has held stories for centuries, from ancient times to Saint Patrick tending sheep on these slopes. We’ll Imagine the many footsteps that have passed before ours, leaving behind whispers of resilience, solitude, and prayer.
We’ll pause along the way to touch the rocks and feel their cool surface. This mountain holds both stillness and strength—a quiet reminder of endurance through time.
At a peaceful spot, perhaps where the view stretches across the rolling hills of Antrim, we’ll pause and close our eyes. We’ll take a few slow breaths, letting the fresh mountain air fill our lungs. With each inhale, we’ll draw in the wisdom of the land—strength, patience, and calm. With each exhale, we’ll release any stress or heaviness we’ve carried with us.
Along the path, we’ll notice the small wonders all around us — the yellow gorse flowers, the birdsong echoing through the valley, the distant bleat of sheep. All these small details will be invitations to be fully present, reminding you that nature offers healing simply by being.
Near the summit, we’ll find a quiet place to sit and take in the vast view stretching out to Lough Neagh and the distant hills. We’ll silently offer gratitude—to the mountain, to the elements, and to ourselves for making space to be here.
As you make your way back down, we’ll feel lighter and more grounded. And we’ll carry the calm presence of Slemish with us — its strength and its quiet wisdom—knowing that you can return to this sense of wellbeing anytime, no matter where you are.
There will be 15 spaces and it is £20.00pp.
A basic level of fitness is required and proper walking shoes are mandatory. Hiking poles will be a great help too to help manoeuvre the varied terrain.
The drive from Eglinton is approximately 90mins. Car-sharing options may be available. Or perhaps an interest in taking a bus from the northwest once bookings are made.
