Join Nuala on Saturday 6 June 2026 on a joy-filled hiking adventure to the summit of Slieve Gallion in the Sperrin Mountains.

Our journey will begin in Iniscarn Forest, a peaceful haven at the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains. And whilst many of the lower trees have fallen after the last storm, the air is still fresh with the scent of pine and earthy tones.

The towering conifers higher up still remain and create a natural canopy overhead as we ascend along the winding forest path. This forest is a place of mindfulness, movement and connection to nature.

As we ascend, the trees will thin out and reveal expansive views of the Sperrins. The trail will become steeper but the rhythm of our breath and the steady crunch of our boots on the path will keep us grounded and present.

The landscape will then open up to rolling hills, heather-clad slopes, and distant farmland stretching right out towards Lough Neagh.

After crossing the upper bogland past the cross and telecomms tower, we’ll reach the trig point at Slieve Gallion’s summit where we’ll pause to take it all in.

The panoramic views unfold before you—westward to the rugged heart of the Sperrins, eastward to the vast waters of Lough Neagh, and on a clear day, even as far as the Mourne Mountains and Donegal’s hills.

Standing here, at 528 meters above sea level, there will be a deep sense of achievement, clarity, and perspective.

Slieve Gallion is a place to reflect, to feel connected to something greater, to let go of stress and embrace the beauty of the present moment.

As we descend from the summit, we’ll carry a feeling of renewal and wellbeing back down the mountain - returning with a lighter heart and a clearer mind.
