How are you doing this week? I wonder if laughter has graced your life in recent days? If yes, great. If not, I wonder if there is a possibility to invite in more laughter into your life in the coming days or even every day?
Life is full and life is busy. But are we all taking life way too seriously these days? Can we create space for more fun and laughter? Can we use laughter as a coping mechanism and help build our resilience to manage life's seriousness? I wonder have you ever tried Laughter Yoga? If not, I highly recommend that you do!
Back in 2012, I trained to be a Laughter Yoga Leader and then advanced this training in 2015 to become a Laughter Yoga Teacher. I was then awarded the title of Northern Ireland's first Laughter Yoga Ambassador by Laughter Yoga International. So laughter has been a big part of my journey transitioning from the world of Financial Services to the world of Health & Wellbeing.
A highlight in my work this week was working with the Senior Leadership Team at Ulster University in their new Belfast campus. I have been working with the University for many years delivering Wellbeing Programs to both Students and Staff. This week it was all about Laughter! Even as I write this, I am giggling. The willingness, the openness, the enthusiasm, the connection of this group of individuals was amazing. And we laughed loud as we lay on the floor of that Board Room!
If you would like to find out more about Laughter Yoga and its use, please do get in touch.
And finally...............our Lifestyle recommendation for this week is a walk around the beautiful Botanic Gardens & Palm House in Belfast. I had some free-time on Friday morning and thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. And a little bit of trivia for you that I discovered whilst in the Palm House. What do you call someone obsessed with snowdrops? A Galanthophile!
Wishing you well for the week ahead and remember to embrace laughter when you can. Even repeating the mantra hohohahaha and some deep breathing can open up the laughter. Have a listen here.
