How are you doing today? Almost halfway through the year and the summer holidays are within touching distance. I don’t know about you but I am looking forward to a slower pace of life and work for a little while.
Life has been incredibly full lately with lots of family gatherings and then work has been “beautifully abundant” with facilitating Wellbeing Programs, Team Wellbeing Days and Guided Walks and Adventures. I have lots and lots to be grateful for and I appreciate very much every client, group and business that supports me and the services that I offer.
Well? Are you busy?
Did you notice that I am trying to avoid using the word “busy” above - it was one of my intentions at the beginning of the year to stop using that word. Sure isn’t everyone busy? And when I hear the words “Well - are you busy?”, I am always looking for creative alternatives hence the “beautifully abundant” response. I did say that recently to someone and I wish I could describe the look that the person gave me with a “What did you just say there?” lol.
Joking aside, I wonder where you are at with using “the b word”? Our use of language is so important and constantly using the b word can perhaps add to feelings of overwhelm and stress. I wonder if we focused more on words associated with what we have accomplished or how productive we have been, could the shift in focus and the right language create a more positive feeling? I think so.
Perhaps the next time someone asks you whether you are busy, how about taking a moment - even a breath and find words that create more positive feelings. Here are a few suggestions: “I am having a productive week” - “All is under control” - “ I have ticked off lots from my to do list today” - “Today was good. Tomorrow is a new day.”.
Summer Solstice Celebration
We had a very special Summer Solstice Celebration last week as part of our Monthly Wellbeing Circle. I had invited the fabulous Anne Mackenzie One Soul Holistic Therapies to be our Guest Facilitator. Anne was amazing!
I had decided to keep the location of the event a secret so that we could add an element of surprise to the evening. From the moment that we gathered in Limavady, to the first steps into the forest, to the arrival at the high point of the iron age hilltop enclosure - the Giant’s Sconce - it was very special indeed.
Anne lead us in a powerful healing, prayer and gratitude experience as we sat in circle with the evening sun high in the sky and a breathtaking 360 view out over the Causeway Coast and inland over the Windyhill. The lovely Julie captured the image above as we descended back to the forest after our celebration.
Guided Walks & Adventures
In addition to our Summer Solstice Celebration last week, I lead a fabulous group on a day-trip to Rathlin Island. Pure joy and sunshine from start to finish. Have a look here. I cannot wait to go back for our Weekend Walking Retreat at the end of July.
We are off to hike Sawel Mountain on Thursday. Then our next Sunset Hike will be on Binevenagh on the 20th July and our next Hiking Adventure will be to Cuilcagh in Fermanagh on the 22nd July. Book your place now. It would be great to see you and walk with you.
Sharing is Caring
My Good Friend Janice Tracey Nutrition is hosting a “Live In My Kitchen” Webinar this Thursday Evening. Janice will be unlocking the secrets of her kitchen and helping you with how to stock your cupboards for healthy eating midlife and beyond. Perhaps some respite from the busyness of life? It will no doubt be fun and filled with Janice’s authentic and energetic style. Check it out here.
Sending you my well wishes for the week ahead and I hope that you have some rest and relaxation scheduled in the diary.
Be well
