How are you doing this week? Hope you were able to manoeuvre the recent snow and yellow weather warnings without too much inconvenience.
International Women's Day 2023
Earlier in the week, I had the privilege of being invited to speak at an International Women's Day Event in Riverside Theatre at Ulster University. What a day - what a line-up. I felt totally inspired with the wealth of local women "Making a Difference" across business, politics, community and voluntary. A special mention to one of the hosts, Enterprise Causeway, for a superbly organised event.
Carpe Momentum - Seizing Moments of Self-care Everyday
In my work delivering Wellbeing Programs to mostly groups of women, a recurring theme I hear often is the challenge of finding time for regular self-care. Is it any wonder with the ever-increasing demands on our time, ever-growing to do lists and multiple distractions?
I chose to use my keynote speech as an opportunity to share some practical tips on how to seize every moment throughout the day as an opportunity for self-care. After a 5 minute Guided Relaxation, I introduced everyone to the Public Health Agency’s Take 5 framework for mental wellbeing. It is a great and practical tool to promote taking moments of self-care everyday. Think of them as your ‘five a day’ for wellbeing. Click on the link below and access all the PHA Take 5 Resources.

April Adventure - Meditation, Journaling, Reading, Moving
Every morning for the last few months, I have been leading wonderful groups of people in Daily Meditation & Journaling for Wellbeing. Creating these daily habits has been life-changing for many and the connections and support that I witness amongst the participants on these monthly journeys is so incredibly heart-warming.
Taking inspiration from Robin Sharma’s 5am Club and his philosophy of “Own your morning, elevate your life”, I have decided to add Reading and Moving to our April Adventure.
Every morning at 6am, we will go live on zoom for 30mins - 15mins of Meditation and 15mins of Journaling. These sessions will be recorded should you choose a later than 6am start. Following the live recording, I will encourage you to read a self-help/personal development book for 15mins and then 15mins of moving your body.
This is a brilliant opportunity to elevate your daily self-care practice as the daily light becomes longer and Spring arrives. Remember - if you want something different in life, you must do something different!
