How are you doing this week?
I am catching up after a short break to Colorado to attend the wedding of a good friend. My first time to visit Colorado, the Rocky Mountains and the mountain resort of Breckenridge shown in the photo above.
Absolutely stunning scenery everywhere! The resort of Breckenridge sits at approx 10,000 ft (3000m) above sea level and for the first time in my life, I really felt the impact of the altitude and the reduced oxygen. When I compare that altitude to the likes of Binevenagh at 385m and Carrauntoohil at 1038m, I can fully understand the altitude impact. Whilst it has been super to catch up with friends and explore new landscapes, I am happy to have now returned to the moist and fully-oxygenated air of Ireland!
I have been healing a minor injury over the last couple of months and have really missed leading our group walks. But over the last couple of days, I have lead a Light Up Walk around Roe Valley Country Park and a Wellbeing Walk through Binevenagh Forest and it feels wonderful to be back out again! Thank God for patience and healing!
Spending time in nature, moving my body and connecting to like-minded people really does wonders for my own mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. Does it do the same for you?
If you have yet to join one of our walks, come join me next Thursday or Saturday. Or perhaps you have not been out in a while and are keen to get back out again? Either way, it would be great to see you and walk with you. You can find all the details of upcoming events here.
And remember self-care can mean many things to many people. So whether it is a walk, a mindfulness session, learning something new, soaking in a bath, reading a book or even just having an early night, it is important that you schedule self-care in your diary now for the week ahead. As the saying goes "if it ain't scheduled, it ain't happening".
Wishing you a good week ahead and making time for YOU!
Be well.
