How are you doing this week?
I have definitely noticed the one hour change with my daily self-care ritual. A few months back, I created a new habit of getting up each morning at 5.15am to meditate, to write, to read and to walk - where possible - all in that order.
After getting over myself saying that it was really 4.15am lol, I navigated the time change this week by scheduling in a 15min power nap each afternoon. Because I facilitate Wellbeing Programs or Group Hikes most evenings, these 15mins delivered an energy-boost so that I could keep going. I can highly recommend!
Variety is the Spice of Life - Spinning - Badminton - Tree Planting
They say that variety is the spice of life so I decided this week to spice things up a bit with my weekly exercise and book a Spinning session and a Badminton session (separately of course in case you were wondering - but then again there's a thought lol).
It has been quite a while since I tried either but what joy. The spinning session had me buzzing with lots of feel good endorphins and the badminton session, whilst great fun, it definitely brought out the competitive streak within me. It reminded me of my younger days playing Camogie for Faughanvale GAC and for Queen's University!
I've also been tree planting this week with the Woodland Trust. What a great way to be outdoors, to be in nature and to give a little something back. This was my second time volunteering with Robert Watson and I thoroughly enjoyed it - even with the rain and the mud. If this is something you would like to get involved with, you can contact Robert at RobertWatson@woodlandtrust.org.uk.

Guided Walks and Adventures
On Thursday evening, we had the pleasure of hiking up Binevenagh for our penultimate Light Up Walk of the season. Whilst muddy on the ascent, when we arrived above the tree-line we were gifted with a beautiful sunset and night sky.
Then as the light dimmed, the lights of Derry, Donegal, Magilligan and the Causeway Coast provided their very own light show at the summit and on the descent. A magical evening. Have a look here at our Instagram Reel of the walk.
We have upcoming Guided Walks and Adventures on Binevenagh, along the Causeway Coast and to the Mourne Mountains. Add a sprinkle of variety to your weekly exercise and social activities and book your place on one of our events now. You'll always be guaranteed a great day out amongst like-minded people who are interested in leading happier and healthier lives in the great outdoors.
Have a great week ahead.
Be well.
